The Senior Yoga Classes are also for anyone who is recovering from injuries, surgeries or whether you have physical limitations or challenges. Contact me if you have any questions.


Stretching for Seniors

This class is designed for those who want to bring a little more flexibility and openness to their body through stretching. As we age, our muscles can become “tight” feeling, and these developing aches and pains can cause us to be less mobile or maybe throw our balance off. The more we stretch (and strengthen), the greater chances we will not develop an injury. Check with your physician, if you have concerns. There is NO yoga experience required. Yin Yoga is ‘regular’ stretching through the use of yoga poses. Most stretching is done lying down, seated and occasionally standing up. There is no constant moving up and down, so students who have balance challenges do not have to worry about getting up and down. Students are either on the floor or standing.

 

Classes are on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  This session has eight classes.  The dates of each session are as follows:

 

  • September 12th through October 17th (Session 1)

  • October 31st through December 12th (Session 2)

Chair Yoga for Seniors

Chair Yoga is a great way to start your yoga practice or add to your already existing exercise program.  There is no yoga experience required.  Chair Yoga works to increase flexibility, improve mobility, and strengthen your core to support balance movements.  Check with your physician, if you have concerns.

Gentle Flow Yoga for Seniors

No yoga experience required.  This class is designed for those who want to move a little slower due to physical challenges, arthritis, etc.  As you gently move through each class, you can increase flexibility, improve mobility, and strengthen your core to support your balance.  Each class starts and ends with a focus on breath work and stretching.  Check with your physician, if you have concerns. 

 

Classes are on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m..  This session has eight classes.  The dates of each session are as follows:

 

  • September 9th through October 14th (Session 1)

  • October 28th through December 9th (Session 2)
